Objective To investigate the antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates and their associations with the existence of integrons. Methods During a 12-month study, 140 clinically significant Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates were collected from patients hospitalized in the burn ward of different hospitals in Tehran. Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates were identified using standard laboratory procedures. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed for 13…
Antibiotic resistance and frequency of class 1 integrons among Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates obtained from wastewaters of a burn center in Northern Iran.
TLDR
The results highlight the importance of class 1 integrons in multiple antibiotic resistance among P. aeruginosa isolates, and the spread of hospital derived wastewaters in the environment can be regarded as the origin of significant reservoirs for antibiotic-resistant pathogens.
The frequency of class1 and 2 integrons in Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains isolated from burn patients in a burn center of Ahvaz, Iran
TLDR
A high antimicrobial resistance among P. aeruginosa isolates was demonstrated and seems to play an important role in multidrug resistance among the isolates.
A meta-analysis of the prevalence of class 1 integron and correlation with antibiotic resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa recovered from Iranian burn patients.
TLDR
The results showed high prevalence of class 1 integrons, antibiotic resistance, and MDR strains in P. aeruginosa isolated from Iranian burn patients and most of the included studies showed a significant correlation between the presence of class 2 integrons and antibiotic resistance.
Clonal dissemination of KPC-2-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae ST11 and ST48 clone among multiple departments in a tertiary teaching hospital in Jiangsu Province, China.
TLDR
KPC-2-producing CRKP ST11 and ST48 clone were widely disseminated in multiple departments of the authors' hospital, which triggers the need for active surveillance and implementation of infection control measures.
Occurrence of Transferable Integrons and sul and dfr Genes Among Sulfonamide-and/or Trimethoprim-Resistant Bacteria Isolated From Chilean Salmonid Farms
TLDR
This is the first report of the characterization and transferability of integrons as well as sul and dfr genes among bacteria associated to Chilean salmon farms, evidencing a relevant role of this environment as a reservoir of these genes.

TLDR
Optimization of using antimicrobial agents and control of infection is recommended to prevent the increasing population of drug resistant organisms in the new burn centre setting in this study.
Class 1 integron and Imipenem Resistance in Clinical Isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Prevalence and Antibiotic Susceptibility
TLDR
The high frequency of imipenem resistance was seen among P. aeruginosa isolates, and it was found that MDR phenotype, presence of class 1 integron and hospitalization in ICU and burn units were significantly associated with imipanem non-susceptible isolates.
Molecular characterization of class 1 integrons in MDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from clinical settings in Iran, Tehran.
TLDR
The high prevalence of class 1 integons with limited diversity of gene cassette arrays in MDRPA clinical isolates found from five hospitals in Iran is confirmed, the first report showing gene cassette contents ofclass 1 integrons in P. aeruginosa isolates in Iran.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Burn Infection, Treatment and Antibacterial Resistance
TLDR
Combined therapy is the best strategy to treat severe infections due to suspected multidrug resistant Pseudomonas, and Polymyxin E (colistin) and carbapenems are the most effective antibiotics against MDR isolates.

TLDR
