BACKGROUND Positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) carotid standardised uptake values (SUV) of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18FDG) have been proposed as an inflammatory biomarker for determining cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke.
