Abstract Cardiovascular disease [atherosclerosis and subsequent myocardial infarction (MI)] has been associated with primary hyperparathyroidism. We aimed at studying cardiovascular events before and after surgery and mortality after surgery for primary hyperparathyroidism using a historical follow-up design.
