The hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-Met signalling pathway is deregulated in most cancers and associated with a poor prognosis in breast cancer. Cardiotoxin III (CTX III), a basic polypeptide isolated from Naja naja atra venom, has been shown to exhibit anticancer activity.
