## Self-Implicating Structures for Diagnosable Systems

In this paper, we consider one aspect of the PNC system level fault model, the properties of the Impl led faulty sets. For i-diagnosable systems that have at most faulty units, we present lower bounds on the cardinal ity of the maximal Implied faulty sets. When x 4 2, we show that the cardinalfty of the maximal Implied faulty sets Is greater than x. In the case i > 2 we have two results: (1) the cardinalfty of the maximal Implied faulty sets associated with the faulty units is greater than or equal to t k + t, where k Is the smallest integer such that 1 4 6k + 2, and (i1) the cardinality of the maximal Implied faulty sets of all the units Is greater than or equal to i k + I, where now k Is the smallest Integer such that 1 4 7k + 2.
