would explain the malformations of the anterior chamber of the eye. The retinal photoreceptors arises from undifferentiated neuroblasts only after the ganglion cell layer has been established. A survey of previously described cases has shown that some patients with Walker-Warburg syndrome have virtually no photoreceptors whereas in others they have multiplied in a disordered pattern and formed malformation rosettes (Warburg et al., in preparation).
