Abstract Within a 5 year period, 632 patients with squamous cell carcinoma in situ of the cervix were treated selectively by extirpation or definitive conization, management being by a variety of physicians. In the uterus or stump removed after cone biopsy, residual tumor was found in 16.4 per cent. Of 112 treated by definitive conization, 22 had subsequent pregnancy.
