We compared phytotron chamber- and field-obtained gas exchange parameters from a semiarid pinyon pine-juniper (Pinus edulis Engelm.-Juniperus monosperma (Engelm.) Sarg.) community in northern New Mexico, an ecosystem where carbon gain could be limited by both water and nitrogen availability.
