Sixteen shear capacity tests were performed on eight decommissioned AASHTO prestressed concrete girders that had been in service for over 42 years. These bridge members presented a unique opportunity to investigate carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) retrofit schemes to enhance the shear capacity of underreinforced girders that were nonrectangular.
