Contrast-induced nephrotoxicity is an important cause of hospital-acquired acute renal insufficiency. Different modalities have been used to prevent contrast induced-nephrotoxicity namely saline infusion, mannitol, furosemide, calcium channel blockers, atrial natriuretic factor and dopamine infusion with variable success.
