We investigate the double-layer electron system in a parabolic quantum well at filling factor nu=2 in a tilted magnetic field using capacitance spectroscopy. The competition between two ground states is found at the Zeeman splitting appreciably smaller than the symmetric-antisymmetric splitting. Although at the transition point the system breaks up into domains of the two competing states, the activation energy turns out to be finite, signaling the occurrence of a new insulator-insulator…

Magnetotransport study of the canted antiferromagnetic phase in bilayer nu=2 quantum Hall state

Magnetotransport properties are investigated in the bilayer quantum Hall state at the total filling factor $\ensuremath{\nu}=2$. We measured the activation energy elaborately as a function of the

Goldstone Modes in Bilayer Quantum Hall Systems at ν = 2

At the filling factor ν=2, the bilayer quantum Hall system has three phases, the spin-ferromagnet phase, the spin singlet phase and the canted antiferromagnet (CAF) phase, depending on the relative

The study of Goldstone modes in ν = 2 bilayer quantum Hall systems

Abstract. At the filling factor ν = 2, the bilayer quantum Hall system has three phases, the spin-ferromagnet phase, the spin singlet phase and the canted antiferromagnet (CAF) phase, depending on the

Nambu-Goldstone modes and the Josephson supercurrent in the bilayer quantum Hall system

An interlayer phase coherence develops spontaneously in the bilayer quantum Hall system at the filling factor $\nu =1$. On the other hand, the spin and pseudospin degrees of freedom are entangled

Low-Frequency Spin Dynamics in a Canted Antiferromagnet

TLDR
These data demonstrate the realization of a two-dimensional system with planar broken symmetry, in which fluctuations do not freeze out when approaching the zero temperature limit, and are a hallmark of canted antiferromagnetic order.

Shifting the quantum Hall plateau level in a double layer electron system

We study the plateaux of the integer quantum Hall resistance in a bilayer electron system in tilted magnetic fields. In a narrow range of tilt angles and at certain magnetic fields, the plateau level

Phase diagram and skyrmion energy for bilayer heterostructures at integer filling factors

The phase diagram of a bilayer heterostructure at integer filling factors was established using the hidden symmetry method. Three phases, namely, ferromagnetic, canted antiferromagnetic (CAP), and

Possible Jahn-Teller effect in Si inverse layers

The Jahn-Teller effect in a bivalley Si(100) heterostructure under conditions of the quantum Hall effect at integer filling factors v=1, 2, and 3 is studied. This system is described by an SU(4)
