Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory demyelinating CNS disease of putatively autoimmune origin. Novel models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) have demonstrated that T cells specific for various myelin and even nonmyelin proteins are potentially encephalitogenic.
