We explore the dark matter interpretation of the anomalies claimed by the DAMA and cogent experiments, in conjunction with the various null direct-detection experiments. An independent analysis of the cogent data is employed and several experimental and astrophysical uncertainties are considered. Various phenomenological models are studied, including isospin violating interactions, momentum-dependent form factors, velocity-dependent form factors, inelastic scatterings (endothermic and… Expand
Light Dark Matter in the light of CRESST-II
Recently the CRESST collaboration has published the long anticipated results of their direct Dark Matter (DM) detection experiment with a CaWO4 target. The number of observed events exceeds knownExpand
Dark matter attempts for CoGeNT and DAMA
Recently, the CoGeNT collaboration presented a positive signal for an annual modulation in their data set. In light of the long standing annual modulation signal in DAMA/LIBRA, we analyze theExpand
Mirror dark matter interpretations of the DAMA, CoGeNT and CRESST-II data
The CRESST-II collaboration have announced evidence for the direct detection of dark matter in 730 kg-days exposure of a CaWO$_4$ target. We examine these new results, along with DAMA and CoGeNTExpand
Light magnetic dark matter in direct detection searches
We study a fermionic Dark Matter particle carrying magnetic dipole moment and analyze its impact on direct detection experiments. In particular we show that it can accommodate the DAMA, CoGeNT andExpand
Resolving astrophysical uncertainties in dark matter direct detection
We study the impact of the assumed velocity distribution of galactic dark matter particles on the interpretation of results from nuclear recoil detectors. By converting experimental data to variablesExpand
Direct detection of dark matter in models with a light Z′
We discuss the direct detection signatures of dark matter interacting with nuclei via a new neutral gauge boson Z′, focussing on the case where both the dark matter and the Z′ have mass of a few GeV.Expand
Minimal hidden sector models for CoGeNT/DAMA events
Motivated by recent attempts to reconcile hints of direct dark matter detection by the CoGeNT and DAMA experiments, we construct simple particle physics models that can accommodate the constraints.Expand
The unbearable lightness of being: CDMS versus XENON
The CDMS-II collaboration has reported 3 events in a Si detector, which are consistent with being nuclear recoils due to scattering of Galactic dark matter particles with a mass of 8:6 GeV and aExpand
Cosmic-ray antiproton constraints on light singlino-like dark matter candidates
Abstract The CoGeNT experiment, dedicated to direct detection of dark matter, has recently released excess events that could be interpreted as elastic collisions of ∼ 10 GeV dark matter particles,Expand
New Directions in Direct Dark Matter Searches
I present the status of direct dark matter detection with specific attention to the experimental results and their phenomenological interpretation in terms of dark matter interactions. In particularExpand

On the DAMA and CoGeNT Modulations
DAMA observes an annual modulation in their event rate, as might be expected from dark matter scatterings, while CoGeNT has reported evidence for a similar modulation. The simplest interpretation ofExpand
Consistent dark matter interpretation for CoGeNT and DAMA/LIBRA
In this paper, we study the recent excess of low-energy events observed by the CoGeNT Collaboration and the annual modulation reported by the DAMA/LIBRA Collaboration, and discuss whether theseExpand
Inelastic dark matter
Many observations suggest that much of the matter of the universe is nonbaryonic. Recently, the DAMA NaI dark matter direct detection experiment reported an annual modulation in their event rateExpand
Dark matter attempts for CoGeNT and DAMA
Recently, the CoGeNT collaboration presented a positive signal for an annual modulation in their data set. In light of the long standing annual modulation signal in DAMA/LIBRA, we analyze theExpand
Observations of annual modulation in direct detection of relic particles and light neutralinos
The long-standing model-independent annual modulation effect measured by the DAMA Collaboration, which fulfills all the requirements of a dark matter annual modulation signature, and the new resultExpand
Inelastic dark matter, non-standard halos and the DAMA/LIBRA results
The DAMA collaboration have claimed to detect particle dark matter (DM) via an annual modulation in their observed recoil event rate. This appears to be in strong disagreement with the null resultsExpand
Interfering composite asymmetric dark matter as explanation for DAMA and CoGeNT results
We provide a simple mechanism for reconciling the direct dark matter experimental results. We consider light asymmetric composite dark matter which scatters off nuclei via Higgs and photon exchange.Expand
Compatibility of DAMA dark matter detection with other searches
We present two examples of velocity distributions for light dark matter particles that reconcile the annual modulation signal observed by DAMA with all other negative results from dark matterExpand

We present a dynamical alternative to inelastic dark matter as a way of reconciling the modulating signal seen at DAMA with null results at other direct detection experiments. The essentialExpand
CoGeNT Interpretations
Recently, the CoGeNT experiment has reported events in excess of expected background. We analyze dark matter scenarios which can potentially explain this signal. Under the standard case of spinExpand
