Metrology management and technical personnel have long puzzled over determining appropriate quality assurance standards and practices for effective management of calibration and test equipment. Such standards and practices include accuracy ratio criteria, measurement reliability (percent in-tolerance) targets, test tolerance limits vs. performance tolerance limits, "significant" out-of-tolerance points, and equipment adjustment or renewal policy.
