A new simple and explicit equation is proposed for calculating friction factor for turbulent flow in stranght and circular pipe. The new equation can reproduce the Colebrook equation with average deviation (ARD) of 0 07% and the maximum deviation of 0.3% in the range of relative roughness being 10 -8 ≤ e/d ≤0 05and Reynolds number being 3 000≤ Re ≤10 8.
