Abstract Total gamma-ray efficiencies of coaxial Ge(Li) detectors are calculated from 20 keV to 10 MeV for disc sources having radii varying from 10% to 90% of the radius of the p-type detector core. Detectors with radial depletion depths from 7 to 20 mm and volumes from 10 to 100 cm 3 are considered. Source to detector distances vary from 3 to 25 cm.
