Partially purified neutral protease was entrapped in calcium alginate beads and characterized using casein as a substrate. Temperature and pH maxima of the enzyme showed no changes before and after immobilization and remained stable at 50°C and 7.5 respectively. However substrate concentration for maximum enzyme activity of immobilized enzyme was shifted from 0.45% to 0.8%.
