For any subgroup G of O(n), define a "G-manifold" to be an n-dimensional Riemannian manifold whose holonomy group is contained in G. Then a G-manifold where G is the Standard Model gauge group is precisely a Calabi-Yau manifold of 10 real dimensions whose tangent spaces split into orthogonal 4- and 6-dimensional subspaces, each preserved by the complex structure and parallel transport. In particular, the product of Calabi-Yau manifolds of dimensions 4 and 6 gives such a G-manifold. Moreover… Expand
Sasakian quiver gauge theory on the Aloff-Wallach space X1,1
We consider the SU(3)SU(3)-equivariant dimensional reduction of gauge theories on spaces of the form Md×X1,1Md×X1,1 with d  -dimensional Riemannian manifold MdMd and the Aloff–Wallach spaceExpand
Cosmic Strings with Small Tension
We describe cosmic F--term strings with exponentially small tension which are D3 branes wrapped on deformed $A_3$ singularities. We show that brane instanton effects which can be calculated after aExpand

SO(9) characterization of the standard model gauge group
A recent series of works by M. Dubois-Violette, I. Todorov and S. Drenska characterised the SM gauge group as the subgroup of SO(9) that, in the octonionic model of the later, preserves the split ofExpand
