STUDY OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of caffeine citrate for treatment of apnea of prematurity. DESIGN Multicenter, parallel, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with open-label rescue. SETTING Nine neonatal intensive care units.
