Cutis verticis gyrata consists of abnormal folding and furrowing of the scalp, more or less conspicuous from case to case. It is not a disease in itself, but a disorder occurring in various forms of neurologic and endocrine disease, and also together with mental disorders, especially mental retardation, then usually of grave nature. dkesson (1964, 1965) reviewed the literature on cutis verticis gyrata and made an exhaustive study of its clinical, genetic and epidemiologic characteristics.
