An aqueous extract of Musa sapientum and Cucurbita maxima has been used as a corrosion inhibitor in controlling corrosion of carbon steel. The main constituent of Musa sapientum extract is gallocatechin and dopamine and that of Cucurbita maxima is phlobatannins and terpenoids.
