We consider the day-night asymmetries predicted by various MSW solutions of the solar neutrino problem. The integration over the neutrino energy, as well as over the production region or over the time intervals of more than a day leads to the averaging of oscillations on the way to the earth. This is equivalent to considering the neutrino state arriving at the surface of the earth as an incoherent mixture of the neutrino mass eigenstates (even if there is no divergence of wavepackets). As a…

Day-night asymmetries in active-sterile solar neutrino oscillations
• Physics

A bstractDay-night asymmetries in active-sterile solar neutrino oscillations are discussed in the general 3 + Ns mixing framework with three active and Ns sterile neutrinos. Analytical expressions of
Day-Night and Energy Variations for Maximal Neutrino Mixing Angles
It has been stated in the literature that the case of maximal mixing angle for ve leads to no day-night effect for solar neutrinos and an energy independent flux suppression of 1. While the case of
Day-Night and Energy Dependence of MSW Solar Neutrinos for Maximal Mixing
• Physics

It has been stated in the literature that the case of maximal mixing angle for \nu_e leads to no day-night effect for solar neutrinos and an energy independent flux suppression of 1/2. While the case
Day - night and energy variations for maximal neutrino mixing angles
Abstract : It has been stated in the literature that the case of maximal mixing angle for nu(e) leads to no day-night effect for solar neutrinos and an energy independent flux suppression of 1/2.
A simple analytic three-flavour description of the day night effect in the solar neutrino flux
• Physics
• 2004
In the 3-flavour framework we derive a simple approximate analytic expression for the day-night difference of the flux of solar νe at terrestrial detectors which is valid for an arbitrary Earth
CP-violating phases in active-sterile solar neutrino oscillations
• Physics
• 2013
The effects of CP-violating phases in active-sterile solar neutrino oscillations are discussed in a general scheme of 3 + N-s mixing, without any constraint on the mixing between the three active and
Solar $\bar{\nu}_e$ flux: Revisiting bounds on neutrino magnetic moments and solar magnetic field
• Physics

: The interaction of neutrino transition magnetic dipole moments with magnetic fields can give rise to the phenomenon of neutrino spin-flavour precession (SFP). For Majorana neutrinos, the combined
On the mass eigenstate composition of the 8B neutrinos from the Sun
• Physics
• 2007
The present data from gallium experiments provide indirectly the experimental limit on the fraction of ν2 mass eigenstates for the 8B neutrinos from the Sun. However, if we are to use the
Neutrino electromagnetic interactions: A window to new physics
• Physics
• 2014
With the observation of neutrino masses and mixings, the study of their electromagnetic interactions has assumed greater relevance both as verification of the $\ensuremath{\nu}$ standard model, and
