In order to investigate the possible influence of rotation on the efficiency of the first dredge-up we determined atmospheric parameters, masses, and abundances of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen in a sample of evolved intermediate mass stars. We used high resolution spectra and conducted a model atmosphere analysis. The abundances were calculated through spectral synthesis and compared to the predictions of rotating and non-rotating evolutionary models. Almost all those objects in our sample… Expand
The VLT-FLAMES survey of massive stars: atmospheric parameters and rotational velocity distributions for B-type stars in the Magellanic Clouds
We provide atmospheric parameters and rotational velocities of a large sample (~400) of O- and early B-type stars, analysed in a homogeneous and consistent manner, for use in constraining theoreticalExpand
Nitrogen enrichment in atmospheres of A- and F-type supergiants
• Physics
• 2010
Using new accurate fundamental parameters of 30 Galactic A and F supergiants, namely their effective temperatures T eff and surface gravities log g, we implemented a non-LTE analysis of the nitrogenExpand
Do Hertzsprung-Gap Stars Show Any Chemical Anomaly?
• Physics
• 2019
With an aim to investigate how the surface abundances of intermediate-mass stars off the main sequence (evolving toward the red-giant stage) are affected by the evolution-induced envelope mixing, weExpand
C, N, O and Na abundances of Cepheid variables: implications on the mixing process in the envelope

The VLT-FLAMES survey of massive stars: surface chemical compositions of B-type stars in the Magellanic Clouds
We present an analysis of high-resolution FLAMES spectra of approximately 50 early B-type stars in three young clusters at different metallicities, NGC 6611 in the Galaxy, N 11 in the LargeExpand
Deep secrets of intermediate-mass giants and supergiants. Models with rotation seem to overestimate mixing effects on the surface abundances of C, N, and Na
• Physics
• 2018
Recent observational results have demonstrated an increase in the surface Na abundance that correlates with stellar mass for red giants between 2 and 3 Msun. This trend supports evolutionary mixingExpand
Evolution of oxygen and nitrogen abundances and nitrogen production mechanism in massive star-forming galaxies

Utilizing the observational data of 55 318 star-forming galaxies (SFGs) selected from the catalogue of MPA-JHU emission-line measurements for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR8, we investigate theExpand
The VLT-FLAMES survey of massive stars: atmospheric parameters and rotational velocity distributions for B-type stars in the Magellanic Clouds ,
Aims. We aim to provide the atmospheric parameters and rotational velocities for a large sample of O- and early B-type stars, analysed in a homogeneous and consistent manner, for use in constrainingExpand
New determination of abundances and stellar parameters for a set of weak G-band stars
• Physics
• 2015
Context. Weak G-band (wGb) stars are a very peculiar class of red giants; they are almost devoided of carbon and often present mild lithium enrichment. Despite their very puzzling abundance patterns,Expand
An Abundance Analysis of the Primary Star of the Peculiar Eclipsing Binary $\epsilon$ Aurigae out of the Eclipsing Phase
• Physics
• 2010
A detailed abundance analysis of the primary star of Aur before an eclipse was carried out using a very high signal-to-noise ratio optical-region spectrum. An A7 Iab supergiant HD 81471, presumably aExpand
