  • There is a great amount of literature available regarding the efficiency of the various types of cataract extraction. Although operators who have adhered to one method do not change easily, there should be more flexibility in the surgical technics used and emphasized in present day surgery. Though the procedure of cataract extraction is a matter of the individual surgeon's training, there are types of cataracts which are more efficiently removed by one method than by others.
