The paper describes principles of factorial and fractional factorial design of experiments. The various ways of analysing data obtained by these procedures are shown via four case studies. Yates method was followed in case 1 where the effect of anode type, carbon content of steel, temperature, and agitation on cathodic protection of steel in seawater, on current density, was studied. In case 2, a glass was formulated within 10 constituante melted, quantity water and tested for flow…

Aluminum ASA 6061 Anodizing Process by Chromic Acid Using Box–Wilson Central Composite Design: Optimization and Corrosion Tendency

The behavior of anodic porous alumina film formed on an aluminum surface by anodizing in chromic acid solutions was optimized using Box–Wilson experimental design. The film thickness was correlated

Optimization of Fermentation Conditions for the Production of Protein Composition in Parkia biglobosa Seeds using Response Surface Methodology

The optimum conditions for the fermentation of African locust bean (Parkia biglobosa) into a vegetable protein based condiment (Iru) were developed using Response Surface Method (RSM) with three (3)

Central Composite Design for Solvent Extraction of Oil from Neem (Azadirachta indica) seed

Optimization of neem oil extraction using Central Composite Design (CCD) was evaluated in this research. The effects of two factors: sample weight and extraction duration on the response which is

Analyzing Critical Failures in a Production Process: Is Industrial IoT the Solution?

The proposed smart factory model will enable any manufacturing concern to predict critical failures in a production process and provide a real-time process monitoring and thus will provide a solution for a smart manufacturing process of the future.
