BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Buprenorphine and methadone are widely used for the treatment of opioid dependence, but their diversion and/or misuse are frequent. In principle, buprenorphine/naloxone combination therapy should be associated with a lower frequency of drug abuse/misuse than methadone.
