We consider the emergence from quantum entanglement of spacetime geometry in a bulk region. For certain classes of quantum states in an appropriately factorized Hilbert space, a spatial geometry can be defined by associating areas along codimension-one surfaces with the entanglement entropy between either side. We show how radon transforms can be used to convert these data into a spatial metric. Under a particular set of assumptions, the time evolution of such a state traces out a four…

Towards a Theory of Quantum Gravity Through Geometrization of Quantum Mechanics
In this thesis, we adapt an approach by assuming quantum mechanics as a fundamental theory of nature and attempt to recover familiar concepts such as space-time geometry and gravity from quantum
Quantum-First Gravity
This paper elaborates on an intrinsically quantum approach to gravity, which begins with a general framework for quantum mechanics and then seeks to identify additional mathematical structure on

Comparing Quantum Gravity Models: String Theory, Loop Quantum Gravity, and Entanglement Gravity versus SU(∞)-QGR
In a previous article we proposed a new model for quantum gravity (QGR) and cosmology, dubbed SU(∞)-QGR. One of the axioms of this model is that Hilbert spaces of the Universe and its subsystems
M ay 2 01 8 Quantum gravity : a quantum-first approach †
A “quantum-first” approach to gravity is described, where rather than quantizing general relativity, one seeks to formulate the physics of gravity within a quantum-mechanical framework with suitably
General Relativistic Wormhole Connections from Planck-Scales and the ER = EPR Conjecture
TLDR
These findings suggest that if the ER = EPR conjecture is valid, it can be extended to other different types of space–times and that gravity and space–time could be emergent physical quantities if the exchange of a virtual graviton between events can be considered connected by ER wormholes equivalent to entanglement connections.

Spacetime as the optimal generative network of quantum states: a roadmap to QM=GR?
The idea that spacetime geometry is built from quantum entanglement has been widely accepted in the last years. But how exactly the geometry is related with quantum states is still unclear. In this
Quantum-Gravity Screening Effect of the Cosmological Constant in the DeSitter Space-Time
TLDR
A quantum-driven screening effect arises which is shown to affect the magnitude of the cosmological constant in the case of the DeSitter space–time sequences of small-size periodic perturbations with prescribed frequency.
Toolkit for Scalar Fields in Universes with finite-dimensional Hilbert Space
The holographic principle suggests that the Hilbert space of quantum gravity is locally finite-dimensional. Motivated by this point-of-view, and its application to the observable Universe, we

Space from Hilbert Space: Recovering Geometry from Bulk Entanglement
We examine how to construct a spatial manifold and its geometry from the entanglement structure of an abstract quantum state in Hilbert space. Given a decomposition of Hilbert space H into a tensor
Nonlinear gravity from entanglement in conformal field theories

On the Architecture of Spacetime Geometry
We propose entanglement entropy as a probe of the architecture of spacetime in quantum gravity. We argue that the leading contribution to this entropy satisfies an area law for any sufficiently large
On spacetime entanglement
A bstractWe examine the idea that in quantum gravity, the entanglement entropy of a general region should be finite and the leading contribution is given by the Bekenstein-Hawking area law. Using
What is the entropy in entropic gravity
We investigate theories in which gravity arises as a consequence of entropy. We distinguish between two approaches to this idea: holographic gravity, in which Einstein’s equation arises from keeping
De Sitter Space as a Tensor Network: Cosmic No-Hair, Complementarity, and Complexity
We investigate the proposed connection between de Sitter spacetime and the multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz (MERA) tensor network, and ask what can be learned via such a construction.
Glimmers of a Pre-geometric Perspective
Spacetime measurements and gravitational experiments are made by using objects, matter fields or particles and their mutual relationships. As a consequence, any operationally meaningful assertion
Emergent Gravity and the Dark Universe
Recent theoretical progress indicates that spacetime and gravity emerge together from the entanglement structure of an underlying microscopic theory. These ideas are best understood in Anti-de Sitter
The Hilbert Space of Quantum Gravity Is Locally Finite-Dimensional
We argue in a model-independent way that the Hilbert space of quantum gravity is locally finite-dimensional. In other words, the density operator describing the state corresponding to a small region
