Abstract Bulk elastic properties, hardness and fatigue of calcium aluminosilicate (CAS) glasses in the technically relevant region of the ternary with intermediate-silica fraction were determined by combining results of Vickers indentation, ultrasonic echography and Archimedian buoyancy at room temperature.
