Structural design information on the buckling strength of circular steel tubes is presented. Column buckling and local buckling under axial compression, bending, torsion, transverse shear, and combinations of these loadings are covered. The effect of manufacturing and fabrication methods on the magnitude of geometric imperfections in the tubes, and hence on buckling strength, is examined.
