Semiconductor light emitting devices with a high-power output and a broadband spectrum characteristic are accepted as a promising light source for the optical sensing system. However, the characteristics of a high-power and a broadband spectrum are in a trade-off relationship. We have successfully fabricated a broadband emitting diode by multiplying emission areas.
