Sir, We read the Harrison etal . [1] paper outlining the BAUS suprapubic catheter (SPC) practice guidelines with great interest. Authors have mentioned that SPC tracks close rapidly if there is a failure to re-insert the catheter during catheter change and these patients should be referred to the hospital immediately. We come across many elderly patients with long-term SPCs, where there is a delay in referral to secondary care after failure to re-insert the SPC in the community. For such… CONTINUE READING
