Case report A 32-year-old woman in her ® fth pregnancy presented at 28 weeks’ gestation with a signi® cant, painless, antepartum haemorrhage (APH). She reported intermittent uterine tightenings and backache over the previous week. Routine ultrasound at 20 weeks’ gestation had shown the placenta to be clear of the cervical os and she had no antenatal problems of note.
