Recently I read about a social worker, Stacey Edgar, who established Global Girlfriends in 2003 to fulfi ll her dream to empower impoverished women. Seventy percent of the 1.3 billion people living in extreme poverty are women, and when women have fi nancial resources, they use that money to educate and feed their children, and provide them with a better life.
