When several concentrations of brassinolide (BL) were added to a shoot induction medium (SIM) that contained only BA, redifferentiation of adventitious shoots from tobacco leaf discs was unaffected at low BL levels (10-10~10-8 M), but was inhibited at higher concentrations. In comparison, when BL was applied without BA, only cell expansion occurred and no shoots formed.
