A total of 768 cattle were randomly selected among those animals slaughtered at Adwa municipal abattoir to determine the prevalence and the economic loss due to liver condemnation. Following post1mortem examination, 248 (32.3%) cattle were positive for fasciolosis. According to the intensity of pathological lesions, 84 (33.8%) constituted severely affected livers; the rest, 81 (32.7%), 55 (22.2%) and 28 (11.3%) were moderately affected, lightly affected and undifferentiated, respectively.
