Bounds on Single-Exclusion Numbers and Stopping Redundancy of MDS Codes

Abstract

New bounds on single-exclusion numbers are obtained via probabilistic arguments, recurrent relations, as well as explicit constructions. The new bounds are used to better understand the stopping redundancy of MDS codes.
