Abstract3He atoms dissolved in super fluid4He may form aimers (3He)2 in twodimensional (2D) geometries. We study dimer formation in films of dilute3He-4He mixture. After designing a schematic3He-4He interaction potential we calculate the dimer binding energy for various substrates. It is shown that3He impurity states localized near the substrate give rise to the largest magnitudes of the binding energies.

Contact angles and interfacial free energies of liquid3He/4He mixtures on cesium
Following the reentrant wetting temperature measurements, the contact angle determination of liquid helium mixtures on Cs and the prediction of3He bound states at the Cs-liquid helium interface, we

3He impurities on4He clusters
Abstract3He impurities on4He clusters form surface bound states analogous to the Andreev states on a planar liquid-gas interface. The energies and wave functions of such states are evaluated using
Surface state of 3He on liquid 4He
A density functional approach is used to describe the 3He bound state on the free surface of 4He. The method yields a binding energy e = −5.4 K and an effective mass m* = 1.3 m in reasonably good
3He impurities on the bulk surface of liquid4He: Possible existence of excited states
We study, using a density-functional approach, the properties of the two-dimensional system formed by3He atoms on the surface of liquid4He, as a function of3He coverageNs, at zero temperature. We
Is there a liquid phase in a (Sub)monolayer of3He adsorbed on graphite?
Variational Monte Carlo calculations on two dimensional3He adsorbed on graphite show that the uniform fluid phase is unstable with respect to a self bound fluid. Taking into account the

Helium mixtures on weak binding substrates
It has been recently proposed that3He bound states may exist in the first non solid layer of liquid helium near a substrate [N. Pavloff and J. Treiner, J. Low Temp. Phys.83, 331 (1991)]. Detailed
3He impurity states on liquid4He: From thin films to the bulk surface
The structure of the states accessible to3He impurities in films of liquid4He on Nuclepore is investigated using a density functional approach with a finite-range effective interaction. In thick

Phase transitions in multilayer helium films.
Contrary theoretical results are reported in the case of weak-binding surfaces, the alkali metals and H[sub 2] being particularly important examples.
