Bound of Lyapunov Exponent in Kerr-Newman Black Holes via Charged Particle

title={Bound of Lyapunov Exponent in Kerr-Newman Black Holes via Charged Particle},
  author={Naoto Kan and Bogeun Gwak},
We investigate the conjecture on the upper bound of the Lyapunov exponent for the chaotic motion of a charged particle around a Kerr-Newman black hole. The Lyapunov exponent is closely associated with the maximum of the effective potential with respect to the particle. We show that when the angular momenta of the black hole and particle are considered, the Lyapunov exponent can exceed the conjectured upper bound. This is because the angular momenta change the effective potential and increase… Expand

We study the circular motion of charged particles near a charged black hole. The general form of the Lyapunov exponent of charged particles is obtained by using the Jacobian matrix. The results showExpand

Universality in chaos of particle motion near black hole horizon
The motion of a particle near a horizon of a spherically symmetric static black hole is shown to possess a universal Lyapunov exponent of chaos bounded by its surface gravity. To probe the horizon,Expand
Static equilibria of charged particles around charged black holes: Chaos bound and its violations
We study the static equilibrium of a charged massive particle around a charged black hole, balanced by the Lorentz force. For a given black hole, the equilibrium surface is determined by theExpand
Presence of horizon makes particle motion chaotic
Abstract We analyze the motion of a massless and chargeless particle very near to the event horizon. It reveals that the radial motion has exponential growing nature which indicates that there is aExpand
Chaos of particle motion near a black hole with quasitopological electromagnetism
We consider a black hole with quasi-topological electromagnetism to explore the chaos behavior of particle motion near the black hole. We first study the static equilibrium of charged particle nearExpand
Lyapunov exponent, ISCO and Kolmogorov–Senai entropy for Kerr–Kiselev black hole
Geodesic motion has significant characteristics of space-time. We calculate the principle Lyapunov exponent (LE), which is the inverse of the instability timescale associated with this geodesics andExpand
Chaos and dynamics of spinning particles in Kerr spacetime
We study chaos dynamics of spinning particles in Kerr spacetime of rotating black holes use the Papapetrou equations by numerical integration. Because of spin, this system exists many chaosExpand
Geodesic stability, Lyapunov exponents, and quasinormal modes
Geodesic motion determines important features of spacetimes. Null unstable geodesics are closely related to the appearance of compact objects to external observers and have been associated with theExpand
Lyapunov exponent and charged Myers–Perry spacetimes
We compute the proper time Lyapunov exponent for the charged Myers–Perry black hole spacetime and investigate the instability of the equatorial circular geodesics (both time-like and null) via thisExpand
Chaos around a black hole
The authors apply the Melnikov method for identifying chaos in near integrable systems to relativistic particle motion around a Schwarzschild black hole. They start by giving a self-containedExpand
Chaos in Schwarzschild spacetime: The motion of a spinning particle
We study the motion of a spinning test particle in Schwarzschild spacetime, analyzing the Poincar\'e map and the Lyapunov exponent. We find chaotic behavior for a particle with spin higher than someExpand
