We discuss the entanglement properties of bipartite states with Gaussian Wigner functions. For the separability, and the positivity of the partial transpose, we establish explicit necessary and sufficient criteria in terms of the covariance matrix of the state. It is shown that, for systems composed of a single oscillator for Alice and an arbitrary number for Bob, positivity of the partial transpose implies separability. However, this implication fails with two oscillators on each side, as we…

Preparation of bipartite bound entangled Gaussian states in quantum optics

The positivity of the partial transpose is in general only a necessary condition for separability. There exist quantum states that are not separable, but nevertheless are positive under partial

Numerical detection of Gaussian entanglement and its application to the identification of bound entangled Gaussian states

TLDR
It is shown that the separability problem of Gaussian quantum states in continuous-variable quantum systems can be cast as an equivalent problem of determining the feasibility of a set of linear matrix inequalities and efficiently solved using existent numerical solvers.

Partial traces and the geometry of entanglement: Sufficient conditions for the separability of Gaussian states

The notion of partial trace of a density operator is essential for the understanding of the entanglement and separability properties of quantum states. In this paper, we investigate these notions

Bell-correlated activable bound entanglement in multiqubit systems

We show that the Hilbert space of even number (>= 4) of qubits can always be decomposed as a direct sum of four orthogonal subspaces such that the normalized projectors onto the subspaces are

ENTANGLEMENT CRITERION FOR COHERENT SUBTRACTION AND COHERENT ADDITION OF BIPARTITE CONTINUOUS VARIABLE STATES

We study the entanglement conditions of two quite general classes of two-mode non-Gaussian states. Using computable cross norm and realignment criterion, we obtain the sufficient conditions of

Generalized squeezing operators, bipartite Wigner functions and entanglement via Wehrl's entropy functionals

We introduce a new class of unitary transformations based on the Lie algebra that generalizes, for certain particular representations of its generators, well-known squeezing transformations in

Entanglement of formation for symmetric Gaussian states.

TLDR
It is shown that for a fixed amount of entanglement, two-mode squeezed states are those that maximize Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen-like correlations and this is the first instance in which this measure has been determined for genuine continuous variable systems.

Quantum entanglement beyond Gaussian criteria

TLDR
The experimental observation of genuine non-Gaussian entanglement using spatially entangled photon pairs is reported, which shows that the photons exhibit a variety ofEntanglement that cannot be reproduced by Gaussian states.

Fock-space inseparability criteria of bipartite continuous-variable quantum states

We prove that previous various forms of the inseparability of a Gaussian state are equivalent to the negativity of a partial transposed density matrix in the one-photon Fock subspace. We give an

Entanglement criterion independent on observables for multipartite Gaussian states based on uncertainty principle

TLDR
The uncertainty principle is applied to improve the LUR criteria to obtain entanglement criteria for multipartite Gaussian states, which are independent on observalbes.
