Starting from the classic work of Feynman on the {lambda} point of liquid helium, we show that his idea of universal action per particle at the Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) transition point is much more robust that it was known before. Using a simple 'moving string model' for supercurrent and calculating the action, both semiclassically and numerically, we show that the critical action is the same for noninteracting and strongly interacting systems such as liquid {sup 4}He. Inversely, one…

QCD with many fermions and QCD topology

Major nonperturbative phenomena in QCD – confinement and chiral symmetry breaking – are known to be related with certain topological objects. Recent lattice advances into the domain of many Nf =

Effective field theory for quantum liquid in dwarf stars

An effective field theory approach is used to describe quantum matter at greater-than-atomic but less-than-nuclear densities which are encountered in white dwarf stars. We focus on the density and

Deconfinement, monopoles and new phenomena in heavy ion collisions

We discuss various manifestations of the "magnetic scenario" for the quark-gluon plasma viewed as a mixture of two plasmas, of electrically (quark and gluons) as well as magnetically charged

Reconfinement, localization, and thermal monopoles in SU(3) trace-deformed Yang-Mills theory

We study, by means of numerical lattice simulations, the properties of the reconfinement phase transition taking place in trace deformed $SU(3)$ Yang-Mills theory defined on

Charge-Dependent Correlations in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions and the Chiral Magnetic Effect

We provide a phenomenological analysis of present experimental searches for local parity violation manifested through the Chiral Magnetic Effect. We introduce and discuss the relevant correlation

The present work addresses the problematic of forecasting impacts of climate change on future rainfall regimes and their consequences on urban stormwater infrastructures with an integrated framework for producing high resolution probabilistic rainfall projections suitable for studying hydrological processes at the scale of urban drainage.
