Abstract Atom-probe field ion microscopy investigations of ( α 2 + γ ) Ti-47%Al-2%Cr-2%Nb (at%) doped with 0.15% B and 0.2% W, indicate that the boron is mainly concentrated in boride precipitates. Several borides including TiB 2 , TiB and a Cr-enriched M 2 B phase were detected. Initial results give no appreciable evidence of boron segregation to γ γ or α 2 γ interfaces. The solubility of boron in the γ and α 2 matrix phases was found to be 0.011 ± 0.006 at% B and
