Boron isotope composition of marine carbonates has been proposed as a paleo-pH proxy and potential tool to reconstruct atmospheric pCO2. The precise knowledge of the boron isotopic composition of ancient seawater represents the fundamental prerequisite for any paleo-pH reconstruction.
