When I compared the editions in twenty or more spots, I found one rather interesting change. In discussing some quantitative experiments concerning intake of information by the senses, the 1956 statement (page 285) is: &dquo;Experimental psychology is one of the fields in which communication theory may be a welcome and happy guest.&dquo; During the next ten years, disappointments seem to account for the following re-writing (page 2~7) : &dquo;
