# Bohmian mechanics with discrete operators

@article{Hyman2004BohmianMW, title={Bohmian mechanics with discrete operators}, author={Robert Anthony Hyman and Shane A. Caldwell and Edward Dalton}, journal={Journal of Physics A}, year={2004}, volume={37} }

A deterministic and time reversible Bohmian mechanics for operators with continuous and discrete spectra is presented. Randomness enters only through initial conditions. Operators with discrete spectra are incorporated into Bohmian mechanics by associating with each operator a continuous variable in which a finite range of the continuous variable corresponds to the same discrete eigenvalue. In this way a deterministic and time reversible Bohmian mechanics can handle the creation and…

I am concerned with two views of quantum mechanics that John S. Bell called " unromantic " : spontaneous wave function collapse and Bohmian mechanics. I discuss some of their merits and report about…

Quantum mechanics in terms of discrete beables.

- PhysicsPhysical review. A, Atomic, molecular, and optical physics
- 1993

An interpretation of quantum mechanics in terms of classical concepts, «beables,» due to de Broglie, Bohm, and Bell (BBB) is generalized and further developed and it is shown that, in the continuum limit, this interpretation reduces to the causal one of Bohm.

Objective interpretations of quantum mechanics and the possibility of a deterministic limit

Examines a suggestion by Bell (1984) that a deterministic model might be furnished by the continuum limit of an objective stochastic model which he has proposed for quantum field theory on a lattice.…

Is there a phase transition in Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory?

An effective action formalism is used to take into account ring corrections and find that classically broken symmetries can be restored at high temperature and the effective potential at finite temperature is computed using the Vilkovisky-DeWitt formalism.
