Assisting the user is the main goal of ubiquitous environments supported by dynamic ensembles: local agglomerations of smart appliances, whose composition is prone to frequent, unforeseeable, and substantial changes. Globally coherent behavior with respect to the users need can emerge from interaction of individual appliances.
