The gravitational collapse of a pressureless fluid in general relativity (Oppenheimer–Snyder collapse) results in a black hole. The study of the same phenomenon in the brane-world scenario has shown that the exterior of the collapsing dust sphere cannot be static. We show that by allowing for pressure, the exterior of a fluid sphere can be static. The gravitational collapse on the brane proceeds according to the modified gravitational dynamics, turning the initial nearly dust-like configuration…

Black hole formation due to collapsing dark matter in a presence of dark energy in the brane-world scenario

In the last three to four decades, various programs have been studied in order to investigate the final fate of gravitational collapse of massive astronomical objects. In the theoretical context,

Gravitational collapse of interacting combination of dark matter and dark energy in the context of brane world regime

In the scenario of an optimal consideration that is, homogeneous and flat spacetime, we study the Black Hole (BH) formation from the gravitational collapse of a spherical symmetric clump of matter in

Weyl fluid dark matter model tested on the galactic scale by weak gravitational lensing

The higher-dimensional Weyl curvature induces on the brane a new source of gravity. This Weyl fluid of geometrical origin (reducing in the spherically symmetric, static configuration to a dark

Black Strings Associated to Dynamical Braneworlds with Variable Tension

Black strings associated to the McVittie metric in a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker braneworld are investigated, in the context of a variable brane tension. In particular, the black string time-dependent

Regular bulk solutions and black strings from dynamical braneworlds with variable tension

Regular black strings solutions associated to a dynamical Friedmann-Robertson-Walker braneworld are obtained as a particular case of a regular bulk metric, in the context of a variable brane tension.

Brane-world cosmology with black strings

We consider the simplest scenario when black strings / cigars penetrate the cosmological brane. As a result, the brane has a Swiss-cheese structure, with Schwarzschild black holes immersed in a

Asymmetric Swiss-cheese brane-worlds

We study a brane-world cosmological scenario with local inhomogeneities represented by black holes. The brane is asymmetrically embedded into the bulk. The black strings/cigars penetrating the

Virial theorem and the dynamics of clusters of galaxies in the brane world models

A version of the virial theorem, which takes into account the effects of the noncompact extra dimensions, is derived in the framework of the brane world models. In the brane world scenario, the

Spherically symmetric solutions and gravitational collapse in brane-worlds

We consider spherically symmetric solutions within the context of brane-world theory without mirror symmetry or any form of junction conditions. For a constant curvature bulk, we obtain the modified

Gravitational Collapse and Black Hole Evolution — Do Holographic Black Holes Eventually “Anti-Evaporate”? —

We study the gravitational collapse of compact objects in the Brane-World. We begin by arguing that the regularity of the five-dimensional geodesics does not allow the energymomentum tensor of matter

Charged rotating black holes on a 3-brane

We study exact stationary and axisymmetric solutions describing charged rotating black holes localized on a 3-brane in the Randall-Sundrum braneworld. The charges of the black holes are considered to

Braneworld gravitational collapse from a radiative bulk

We study the fate of a collapsing star on the brane in a generalized braneworld gravity with bulk matter. Specifically, we investigate the possibility of having a static exterior for a collapsing

Irradiated asymmetric Friedmann branes

We consider a Friedmann brane moving in a bulk impregnated with radiation. The set-up is strongly asymmetric, with only one black hole in the bulk. The radiation emitted by this left bulk black hole

Gravitational Collapse on the Brane

We investigate how braneworld gravity affects gravitational collapse and black hole formation by studying Oppenheimer-Snyder-like collapse on a Randall-Sundrum type brane. Without making any

Gravity in the randall-sundrum brane world

The weak gravitational field created by isolated matter sources in the Randall-Sundrum brane world is discussed and the leading Kaluza-Klein corrections to the linearized gravitational field of a nonrelativistic spherical object is calculated.
