A bstractWe construct gray soliton configurations, which move at constant speeds, in holographic superfluids for the first time. Since there should be no dissipation for a moving soliton to exist, we use the simplest holographic superfluid model at zero temperature, considering both the standard and alternative quantizations. For comparison purpose, we first investigate black solitons in the zero temperature holographic superfluids, which are static configurations. Then we focus on the…

Twisted kink crystal in holographic superconductor

Holographic superconductor model represents various inhomogeneous solutions with homogeneous sources. In this paper, we study inhomogeneous structures in the presence of the homogeneous current and

Topological defects formation with momentum dissipation

We employ holographic techniques to explore the effects of momentum dissipation on the formation of topological defects during the critical dynamics of a strongly coupled superconductor after a

Inhomogeneous structures in holographic superfluids. I. Dark solitons

We begin an investigation of inhomogeneous structures in holographic superfluids. As a first example, we study domain wall like defects in the 3+1 dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Higgs theory, which was

Non-thermal fixed point in a holographic superfluid

A bstractWe study the far-from-equilibrium dynamics of a (2 + 1)-dimensional super-fluid at finite temperature and chemical potential using its holographic description in terms of a gravitational

Statical Structures of the BCS-like Holographic Superfluid in AdS4 Spacetime

We investigate in detail the m^{2}=0 Abelian Higgs model in AdS4, which is considered as the holographic dual of the most BCS-like superfluid. In homogeneous and isotropic superfluid solutions, we

Note on zero temperature holographic superfluids

In this note, we have addressed various issues on zero temperature holographic superfluids. First, inspired by our numerical evidence for the equality between the superfluid density and particle

Holographic superfluids and superconductors in dilaton-gravity

A bstractWe investigate holographic models of superfluids and superconductors in which the gravitational theory includes a dilatonic field. Dilaton extensions are interesting as they allow us to

Dark solitons in a superfluid Fermi gas

We investigate the behavior of dark solitons in a superfluid Fermi gas along the BCS-BEC crossover by solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations and looking for real and odd solutions for the order

Superconductivity, superfluidity and holography

This is a concise review of holographic superconductors and superfluids. We highlight some predictions of the holographic models and the emphasis is given to physical aspects rather than to the

Towards quantum turbulence in finite temperature Bose-Einstein condensates

A bstractMotivated by the various indications that holographic superfluid is BCS like at the standard quantization but BEC like at the alternative quantization, we have implemented the alternative

Decay of dark solitons and a non-equilibrium dynamical phase transition

Dark solitons play important roles in non-equilibrium dynamics of a superfluid. We discuss temperature dependence of the decay of a dark soliton in two classes of theories, the dissipative

Inhomogeneous structures in holographic superfluids. II. Vortices

We study vortex solutions in a holographic model of Herzog, Hartnoll, and Horowitz, with a vanishing external magnetic field on the boundary, as is appropriate for vortices in a superfluid. We study
