Pro Cholecystokinin (CCK) like other prohormones that pass through the regulated secretory pathway, undergoes a number of post-translational modifications during its biosynthesis including tyrosine sulfation, endoproteolytic cleavages, trimming by carboxypeptidase and c-terminal amidation.
