Synthesis, secretion and post-translational proteolysis of the storage proteins in cotyledons of Lupinus angustifolius L. (lupin) have been examined in vivo and in vitro by using a combination of pulse-chase experiments with [3H]- or [35S]-labelled amino acids, subcellular fractionation and cell-free translation from poly(A)+ (polyadenylylated) RNA or membrane-bound polyribosomes.
