The study of human movement has been subject of a great interest by the medical and scientific community. It was through this interest that new methods of study/analysis in these two areas arose. Dynamic multibody systems are an example of these methods and have enabled the development of more personalized orthoses and prostheses and pre-study of the impacts of some surgeries (e.g. orthopedic surgery). This work was developed in order to study the gait patterns of subjects after surgical repair… Expand

Percutaneous repair of Achilles tendon ruptures with Tenolig: quantitative analysis of postural control and gait pattern.
TLDR
Reduction of the triceps elongation and restoration of strength during the propulsion phase should be the key points in postoperative physiotherapy. Expand

TLDR
Early surgical treatment of Achilles tendon ruptures followed by a shorter immobilization period is associated with satisfactory results, and in the long-term, with a higher rate of patient satisfaction. Expand
The utility of gait analysis in the rehabilitation of patients after surgical treatment of Achilles tendon rupture
TLDR
Gait analysis is suited to both the detection of functional deficits following reconstructive surgery on the musculoskeletal system and to devising individual, patient-oriented rehabilitation plans. Expand
Gait abnormalities following rupture of the tendo Achillis: a pedobarographic assessment.
TLDR
The forefoot pressure deficit in the group with tendon ruptures was smaller when assessed six months after the injury but was still significant, and pedobarographic assessment confirms that there are marked abnormalities within the gait cycle. Expand

TLDR
Surgical treatment of Achilles tendon rupture is associated with a significantly lower incidence of re-rupture and therefore is the treatment method of choice and should be considered in preference to plaster cast immobilisation where appropriate. Expand
